Gamble Responsibly
Company commitment
NRV Media Limited, operator of spinwin.me.uk, regards gambling as a form of paid entertainment and never as a way to earn money or to solve financial difficulties. We are committed to promoting gambling in a responsible, transparent and measured manner.
Gambling is intended only for adults. Persons under the age of 18, or under the minimum age set by the law that applies to them, must not gamble and must not use gambling services. Adults who allow minors to access their devices or accounts act contrary to this policy and, in many places, contrary to the law.
We encourage everyone to gamble only with money they can afford to lose, to set personal limits in advance and to seek support at the first sign of difficulty.
Risk indicators
Gambling can become a problem gradually and without the person noticing. The following behaviours may indicate that gambling is causing harm:
- Spending more money or more time on gambling than originally intended.
- Chasing losses, that is, continuing to gamble in an attempt to win back money that has been lost.
- Borrowing money, selling possessions or neglecting bills and other financial obligations in order to gamble.
- Feeling restless, irritable or anxious when trying to cut down or stop gambling.
- Hiding gambling from family and friends, or lying about how much time or money is spent on it.
- Neglecting work, studies, family or personal relationships because of gambling.
If one or more of these signs apply to you, we recommend that you take a break and make use of the tools and sources of support described below.
Self-exclusion
Self-exclusion is a voluntary measure that allows a player to stop gambling for a chosen period or indefinitely. Licensed casinos and betting operators offer this tool to their customers. A player who wishes to exclude themselves should contact the operator they use and ask for self-exclusion for a fixed period or for an unlimited period. During the exclusion the player should not attempt to open new accounts or to gamble with that operator.
In Great Britain, players can also use the national self-exclusion register GAMSTOP (gamstop.co.uk). Registration with GAMSTOP blocks the player at all licensed operators that take part in the scheme at once, so there is no need to contact each operator separately.
We advise anyone who self-excludes to consider further practical steps, such as installing software that blocks gambling websites and removing saved payment details from their devices.
Setting limits
Licensed casinos commonly provide players with tools to keep their gambling under control. Depending on the operator, these may include:
- Deposit limits, which restrict the amount of money a player can pay in over a day, week or month.
- Loss limits, which restrict the total amount a player can lose over a chosen period.
- Time limits, which restrict the total time a player can spend gambling.
- Session limits, which restrict the length of a single period of play.
- Reality checks, which show regular reminders of how long a player has been playing and how much has been spent.
We recommend that players set their limits before they start to play and that they treat these limits as fixed. Any request to raise a limit should be considered carefully, and never made during or immediately after a losing session.
Getting help
If gambling is causing you or someone close to you difficulty, you do not have to deal with it alone. Support is available:
- GamCare - National Gambling Helpline 0808 8020 133 (gamcare.org.uk)
- Anonymous self-help groups, where people with experience of gambling problems meet to share their experiences and support one another.
Speaking with a trusted relative or friend can also be a valuable first step. Seeking help early makes it easier to regain control.
